Existence, Nothingness, Patterns, and Words (and the self)

There exist two opposing states: existence, in all of its unlimited possibility; and nothingness. All of existence comes from the nothingness.

In our struggle to come to terms with our own existence and that which exists in context, we can easily see our observations, emotions and the day to day occurrences themselves as having some greater meaning, fitting into some pre-existing patchwork explaining everything. Many people find this meaning in religious teachings, and many other people piece together a meaning of their own from an ever expanding and increasingly easy to access collection of human knowledge (the internet, books, etc).

What makes us Human and different from other animals is the written and spoken language, which allows us to communicate to each other, among other things, these far reaching and personally significant meanings in and of life. Part of that requires these meanings and statements of value, retellings of experience or emotions to take on greater significance and weight, thus having the effect of making the words themselves more real than the existence or experience itself. This is the point at which people’s words effect each other very easily, when language used triggers memories and seeming relevencies that allow the listener or reader to feel a shared sense of whatever is being described. What many people do not keep in mind is that the words used are not the experience, nor are they the existence.

When we observe the “outside world”, we look for what we can recognize or make sense of. By contrast, what we cannot recognize or make sense of can hardly be observed at all in that we do not possess he experiences that would allow for the recognition of significance to occur. Thus, when new things happen (as they do every day), it is decidedly easier to attribute them to an imagined pattern or see them as part of a series of events. This is not incorrect, it is a part of what makes us and allows us to be human. But the recognition of the pattern is an act of creation out of nothingness, just like the use of language to describe meaning.

This can be likened to the drawing of complex patterns or geometric structures on graph paper. What exists is the graph paper, and on it we impose patterns that we “see”. By “seeing” the pattern, and especially by drawing it, we are participating in the act of creation by pulling something out of the nothingness. Infinite possibilities of patterns or non-patterns can be imposed upon a sheet of graph paper, but ultimately what exists is the grid and the imagination that sees designs in the grid, connecting the dots and lines as a mirror like expression of itself.

Caution: Toxic

Who do you believe?

Yourself? That’s bullshit.

What do you know that I don’t know? So I’m going to make things simple.

A truck full of consciousness is driving down the highway and it gets hijacked by a devious set of brains looking for cheap thrills. Turns out the brains had been soaking themselves in formaldehyde all day so their driving skills were a little below par. The truck crashes into a tree and the brains get thrown into the back of the truck. Lights and explosions and shit started going off all over the place as some monkeys dropped the fuck out of the tree. The monkeys started dancing with the brains and turned that shit into a dance club. Eventually the monkeys got tired and the brains, sensing weakness ate the each of those motherfucking monkeys in one bite. Then the truck caught on motherfucking FIRE! and those brains burned and burned and burned until there was nothing left. And that is how humans lost their cosmic car keys.

How do I know this?

Because I was there asshole, sad story right?

So don’t give me any of your shit about what you think you know because I know better then that.

I was there. So fuck off.

Boundaries

In the attempt to more fully realize the infinite nature of things, there comes a point where one loses all sense of separation from the outside world. This is good! To be able to see things this way is enviable and can be refreshing, meditative, and aligning. However, in relationships with other people especially, it is important to remember that one must set up some boundaries between the self and the other person. Otherwise, there will be no ability to separate between the other’s ills and your own, and that can divert you from whatever is your intended path.

Woah

Ok, interesting story. In 10th grade I was doing a math equation, and I got an incorrect answer. The answer I got was -1/21. Now for whatever reason, when I saw that number I liked it. I thought it was special for some reason, I didn’t know why I just had a feeling. So I’ve remembered it for all these years (I think that Diabolicus and/or “the one that has been” can verify this part of the story). Shoot ahead to the present, I’m bored, so I decide to type 12/21/12 (december 21, 2012. if you don’t know the significance of this date…look it up) into google. Well google has this feature now where if you type in an equation, it solves it for you. I had unwittingly done this, so I see the number 0.0476190476 and I’m thinking “this looks familiar.” So I try typing in -1/21 and lo and behold it equals -0.0476190476. At this point my mind is throughly blown. I mean, I definitely knew nothing about all this mysticism shit back in 10th grade, I just felt something special about that number, and I’ve been trying to figure out why for years. And now it just happens to be equal to a date that I hold sacred? Too weird. Any lingering doubts about the reality of that date are washed away for me.

Practice with Dogma

Baptised in faith. Under the shadowy cross you live and breath before you question yourself for the first time. Then through an oath, you confirm your faith to my church. You will not like to hear this, but your future rests on the choices you have made. You will find out that the past and future exist to compliment eachother. They only exist in your mind, and are identical in naute. They come to close to together that you quesiton what holds them apart. I would tell you, but that’s not in the deal. Before you had even considered the breath of life, you took an oath to follow the guidelines of my church. You wanted a structured life. You’ll get it. Hop skip. I made sure to taint your innocence soon after you were born, and then I got you sign on the line. Hook line and sinker. I’m still reeling you in daddy! You don’t even believe in me any more, but you forgot that I left an early imprint. You even what I told you about your past and your future. Early imprint meas late imprint. There at birth, I am at your death. Let the catma lay hold, but don’t forget the space between.
