You already know.

The information age.

What’s next?

When we try to look into the eye of the future how do we realize what we see?

Do we realize the future because we imagine what it will be?

So what’s coming?

If you think about it you already know.

You just have to realize what you are imagining and turn it into reality.

The future exist because we have the ability to create it.

but…

How do we realize ourselves?

How do WE realize the future together?

This is the way our world ends, and how the future begins.

The age of enhanced intelligence.

More to come.

We’re All Playing for the Same Team

How will we ever solve the prisoner’s dilemma? There is a solution; it’s when we all realize that we can survive better if we actually look out for each other. Since this method of being if more conducive to survival and reproduction, ultimately it will be the one we become. We just need to reach collective evolution; think of a body, the cells all work together. What if a cell group decided to do what’s best for itself and fuck everything else? Well that’s called cancer. It happens, and when it happens it usually kills the body. The earth is the body we are a part of. At this moment we are cancer, but can cancer learn to be benign. I hope so. All we have to do is work together, love each other, and we can be a fully functioning body as opposed to the tumors on a sickly dying body. What future do you want? Think it can’t happen? We used to be monkeys; it can happen. Technology can help. Evolution is far from over. We will evolve or we’ll die. Make your choice. It’s up to us.

Finding God

In my work towards an inner peace and a healthy spirit, I’ve come to see God in a new light. Associating with God does not mean associating with a religion, and associating with a religion does not mean associating with the dogma of a religion.
God is not a thing or a person, the closest word I can use to describe him in reasonable terms is as a concept. He (it, she, they) represents what is unknown in our lives. He is everything I can’t describe using words, and everything I feel that can’t be explained with reason.
Faith in God requires a subordination of reason, because God cannot be explained in reasonable terms. My belief in God stems from a dissatisfaction with philosophy and science as a way to put life in context. God is the answer to all doubt and gives meaning to life otherwise aimless.
I am worried about my future and the state of my soul, but by simply putting faith in God, my worries disassemble and I can peaceably go on my way without getting bogged down by endless political/philisophical/scientific debate.
Once I stop worrying about my place in the world and just believe that I have a place, I can start to do my work. Without constant speculation about the higher meaning of my actions, I can put my head down and truly explore my connection to the earth and define myself by cutting a path through life.
I can now get over the modern stigma against religion, and embrace it as a community that shares the same fundamental belief that I do: faith in God without reason. The community reminds me that my life is more positive when I stop contemplating utopia and start letting God positively guide my actions. As we are faced with decisions, we can all instinctively judge between right and wrong, and it is faith in God that allows that feeling inside of us to guide our actions.
If you don’t already, try putting faith in God as an experiment. See if it is effective in curbing your doubts and anxiety. See if you can find meaning in your life by ending the aimless search for meaning in your life. Try not to be distracted by forces that make you question yourself and try putting faith in God as a answer your doubts.

Abstraction

The human intellect is a funny thing. It has evolved in time through the different environments we have created to serve it while its physical structure has remained relatively unchanged for the past 10,000 years or so. This new type of evolution is driven by the human minds ability to create, to imagine and then implement those imaginations on the physical and conceptual world around it. New ideas are constantly being generated but how? it seems that through all of our time on the earth that the amount of ideas that we could come up with would slow or become less interesting as time went on. This is far from the truth however.

We as humans have continued to drive our intellectual progress to greater and greater heights throughout history and the device mainly to blame for this is that of abstraction. Abstraction is the ability of the human mind to take a concept, a physical thing (or at least the perception of that physical thing) and to create a associated concept containing only the necessary information. Abstraction allows for the human mind to take in an enormous amount of complex information and to process it on a reasonable time scale.

What does this have to do with intellectual development however? Well as humans have continued to produce new ideas the level of humans ability to abstract thought has gone up as well. Ideas about the nature of the world as well technology created by these new ideas have created a new environment for humans in which more highly abstracted thought could be possible. Just think of how hard it it would be to imagine the idea that our brains are like the software being implemented on the hardware of our physical brains without any idea that something like a computer could exist. The creation of the computer has allowed us to think these higher level abstract thoughts without which we could not understand that the functions of human brain are something that can be studied in a systematic scientific manner, an important part in the next step in our intellectual development.

The human intellect because of its ability to continually abstract information will continue to develop through history as technology and scientific discovery continually provide more and more information for our brains to process. Since each generation’s intellectual development is based upon the environment in which they were raised the levels of abstraction will continue to increase as we begin to have a better understanding of the universe and ways of exploring it conceptually (think of the internet).

As the sea of concepts we as humans have to swim in get larger and larger we must find the most efficient ways of swimming. Abstraction as flippers, what a weird metaphor.

Back to Basics

How to stand up to the issues that plague humanity and return to basics?
It is possible? Has there ever been a humanity without issues? Has there ever even been one human without issues? Why do expect things to get better? How come we try and avoid the apocalypse? It’s always been coming, always been just around the corner, and always been the end of human suffering (or just the beginning depending on how you see things).
Why do I stop myself from living a hedonistic lifestyle? Why don’t I rape any pretty little thing that comes my way? Why don’t I shit on my friends and family, and steal from the poor? I mean why not? None of that shit will matter in a just a little while anyway.
Do I try and life a morally upstanding and ‘good’ life so that I can condescend over the masses? Is it because I like to feel better than everybody else around me? Maybe, maybe not. I get satisfaction out of being good…sometimes. But you know all that shit about nice guys finish last, and no good dead goes unpunished, so why put up with it all? Maybe in order to truely live good, we have to be bad, abandon morals, do drugs and steal from women and children. I mean morality hasn’t gotten us anywhere yet, so why not try a different approach?
Who wins in a fight between God and the Devil? Neither have won yet, so I’m not going to stake my life on either one until it’s conclusively decided. I’m going to win by playing God and the Devil against eachother, once they’re busy fighting eachother I can come in and seize power. Then I’ll relinquish the power when it feels right to save my soul.
I’m sure everyone remembers Bart Simpson who made us all realize that we can all get into heaven even after a life of sin as long as we redeem ourselves before we die. Maybe, maybe not.
