I think the important part wasn't necessarily the feeling of preparation for some event or even feeling a need to balance anything. It was more a way to react to what's happening in the world right now.

Let me share an experience I had last night.
Living in a city, one doesn't see more than 100 stars even on a clear night, so last night when I looked up at the moonless sky to see a sky busting with stars, I suddenly lost control. There were too many stars, and they were too far away. A taste of macro-infinity threw me out of balance.
But! It wasn't too long before I remembered the last time that I saw stars... in a meditation a week prior. I was on the outside of a hatch that protected the access point to my unchanging-self, and I saw the infinite starry sky inside of me.
The point is that even if the outside looks big and intimidating, there exists a balancing force just as big and intimidating. For you preparing may be the way in which you'll feel better, but NO PREPARATION IS NECESSARY. Balancing forces don't make themselves known until things are our of balance. Last time I checked everything still exhumed equilibrium, but in any case when we as a people need access to our power, the way will be unmistakeably clear.

You must be careful. This type of thinking needs to be looked at again I think. In order to truly see you have to be able to separate what you yourself are creating from what is actually happening. Just because certain events suit or fit into what you believe does not mean you should pay more attention to them. It is the opposite actually that should be true. When we find something that fits into our notions about the world that is when we should be he most skeptical. Separating what our minds tell us is true and what really is, that is the real challenge of consciousness
