Some news you may not have heard
So it has recently been reported by the BBC that the US oil industry had come up with a comprehensive plan for iraq. A 323 page plan was created detailing what to do with Iraqi oil. Why is it that US oil executives are planing what to do with a (at the time) sovereign nation’s oil reserves?
I highly recommend watching the 5/15 episode of Democracy Now for Greg Palast’s interview for his new book Armed madhouse. As well as a comprehensive report on the Darfur crisis. It is being labeled as the worst humanitarian crisis in the history of the world. Why isn’t this on the top of the US list for foreign policy?
Why is the BBC the only respectable national news organization for US news?
What is happening to the press in the United States?
What the fuck!

the internet is good, for now, but they’re trying to kill it for obvious reasons, and they may succeeded.

I just listended to that show, and you were right to point it out. The author of that book announces some amazing/unsettling data. I don’t know what to do with all this info, especially when it’s being repressed and cannot break through into main stream media. The show can be found on archive.org incase you’re interested in listening to it.

Yes, Democracy Now while obviously slightly slanted to the left is one of the few news organizations left doing real journalism. Major networks have become sensationalized to the point where they are no longer dealing fact but diving out emotional tidbits for mass digestion. While its the fault of the people of the US for making such news popular it does not mean that we must settle for second grade, filtered bullshit.
Real journalism does exist and its our duty to protect and champion its existence.
