I'm hearing you. Like the poor artist. His work doens't get out to the masses. Even Google won't publsh the poor artist's work unless it's from the Oxford library. What about my buddy who still records on a 4 track. What about my sculpture? What about my observations of the world? None of us can afford to advertise. Damn capitalism. None of us can get the attention we desire. Damn pop. The internet lets people publish a lot of things for cheap, but you need a computer first. And your design has to be programmable. There is plenty of free information, but no one to care. It seems as though people only care about what they pay for. Wikipedia is a fantastic exception, except that it is un-american because there are no advertisements or payments.

I'm right with you. Capitalism is a nifty solution to the problem of scarcity: there's not enough to go around. With information, there's no such problem; you can get information from me without me losing anything.

No problem, so capitalism's not the solution. The problems that come with free information are problems with the distribution, which usually does involve scarce resources.
