God tried out different animals for Adam before chosing the perfect creature. It's similar to any two humans who wind up finding each other after 30 years of their life and end up marrying. Sloppy seconds? Well, then every other person someone has been with before settling down can be considered an animal, a misfit. Thinking about it like that doesn't make you too happy, does it?
