The Transcendence of Simplicity
The closest I’ve ever come to a self induced loss of consciousness through meditation came unintentionally one night.
I had been discussing with my friends about the nature of human existence and the need for humans to philosophize constantly and without fail throughout history. by the end of the night we had discussed everything from the purpose of evolution to the nature human history. We had walked for upwards of three hours on our journey through what we already knew. At the end we sat down at a bench. It was dark out at the time and starting to drizzle
As nervous systems evolve to higher and higher levels, they come more and more to understand the true situation in which they are embedded, and the true situation in which we are embedded is an organism, an organization of intelligence on an intergalactic scale.
once we reach that understanding, is there then something more, is that not the beginning of it all?
I had a clear conception of the universe that night, it appeared in my head as a simple geometric shape. Though I can no longer grasp it now as fully as I did then, I carry something from that night with me at all times. I carry a confidence, an absence of fear, faith if you will. Faith in reality.
It’s all around us, it’s all we know, why should we not have faith in it?

I like your use of ‘faith’. Faith is usually a mysterious acceptance of God, one that cannot be confirmed. But you use faith in an even broader sense, a mysterious acceptance of reality. It’s interesting because what in the past I’ve always assumed that is undeniably real. But you’re just made me realize that my assumption that there is a reality is a faith based opinion.

It is infinity that you are talking about, as the saying goes:
“As above, so below”… ad infinitum. The cosmic being, aeon baby from 2001, the great fractal of everything… the list of possible names for it is endless.– the point at which talking about this subject sounds silly is the point at which it stops being verbally describable.– I was there that night. We achieved samsara. or samsomething like it.
